Designer Children Clothes
Gina Conforti, the owner of Studio Kidz, a children’s clothing and accessories store with sizes 0 to 16, says she was tired of the boring, poor-quality clothing available in many mainstream retail outlets. “I wanted to open a store that would sell affordable, durable and trendy clothing, something different from what is found elsewhere in Montreal,” says the mother of twin girls.
Gina says she has always loved fashion, so it was no surprise when she made it her career. She began in customer service, moved up to become a sales representative and was then promoted to regional manager for a Canadian designer. With all these skills behind her, Gina had the experience and strength to open Studio Kidz in July 2014.
“I love to see the children and their mothers leave the shop with a smile because they found something that really pleases them.”

Exclusive Children Clothing Brands
Studio Kidz carries well-known brands such as Mayoral, Imoga, Ooh lala Couture,BillieBlush, BillieBandit, Tumble ‘n Dry and Mini Mackage. “I have exclusive products that you can’t find anywhere else in the city,” says Gina. She decided to locate the shop in Saint-Léonard to be close to home and provide her community with everything children need for clothing under one roof.
Gina wanted other parents to have access to a variety of trendy, affordable clothing for their children. She also wanted to give her daughters a place where they could have fun and feel at home. She chose to decorate the shop like a fantasy fairy tale with hand-painted pictures and a fun PlayStation area, the perfect backdrop for her merchandise.
“I love to see the children and their mothers leave the shop with a smile because they found something that really pleases them,” says Gina.
The personal attention that customers receive at Studio Kidz is just one of the reasons the shop is so popular. “Customers tell me what they want and I give them all the help they need. Everyone is treated the same way, whether they’re simply here to look or to spend,” says Gina.
Even though Gina takes care of it all — sales, administration, publicity and social media — she says it doesn’t feel like work at all because she loves making the kids, and their parents, happy.
